Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, has publicly spoken for the first time since he lost the governorship primary election of the the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Akinwummi Ambode, of Lagos State, in his press conference on Wednesday afternoon, has accepted defeat from the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Ambode who was defeated in yesterday's primary election, thanked Lagosians and party members, congratulated Babajide Sanwo-Olu and promised to work with him to move the state forward.
Sanwo-Olu was backed by influential party leaders in the state, including Bola Tinubu, a former governor of the state.
Sanwo-Olu polled 970,851 votes while the governor had 72,901 votes.
