Princess Eugenie's wedding sparks anger as it's revealed it will be bigger than Prince Harry's

Princess Eugenie’s wedding has sparked outrage after it was revealed it will be bigger than Prince Harry’s.

The 28-year-old princess and her fiance Jack Brooksbank have invited more guests to St George’s Chapel in Windsor than the church will actually hold. St George's Chapel seats 800 people but the couple have invited 850 people, meaning staff will need to bring in extra chairs.

It was also revealed that she has even brought in the expensive party planner David Beckham uses to help organise their wedding events which will span the whole weekend.

Harry and Meghan's wedding was widely criticized for its size and cost to the taxpayer through additional security measures in Windsor. But they only invited 600 guests to their wedding which held in the same venue.

One source said of Eugenie's wedding: “The wedding itself is going to be huge and they are hoping quite a few of the people they’ve invited won’t be able to come because of the capacity issue.”

Condemning Princess Eugenie's lavish wedding, Chris Williamson, the Labour MP for Derby North said: “Who’s heard of Princess Eugenie anyway? She carries out no royal functions, no useful purpose to the public sphere and yet we’re having to spend this kind of money.”

Among those invited for Eugenie's wedding are George and Amal Clooney, the Beckhams, Robbie and Ayda Williams and artist Tracey Emin. Her wedding will also last more days than Prince Harry's, though she's the 9th in line to the throne and does not perform official royal duties.

Though it's been revealed that Eugenie's grandmother The Queen and her father the Duke of York will pay for the couple’s three wedding parties from their own funds, people are still complaining following reports that her plan for a carriage ride around Windsor would inflate security costs to at least £2m of taxpayers' money.
